Team India v Team Hawaii’s Final Match, World Rhythms & Ono Eats

The final match between Team India and Team Hawaii takes place today Sunday 8/13 - international polo oceanfront on the North Shore! Join us as an impressive, exciting game is virtually guaranteed with both squads showing off high-speed breakaways, offensive & defensive team tactics and fine individual athleticism in their debut battle last week. Expect extra fire from the Indian side as captain, Vikram Singh Sodhi, and teammates Tarun Bilwal, Shailander Singh and Sachin Sarbalia seek to avenge last week’s narrow loss and end their visit on the highest of notes.

International culture will be alive and present off the field as well with India Cafe’s chef / owner, Jiva Sagaran, heading up an onsite pop-up kitchen, Willow Chang twirling to and fro in Bollywood fashion, Malaysian guitarist, Shree Sadagopan, leading the charge alongside his fabulous world music ensemble, Quadraphonix, and our Chukker Club beach bar serving Jodhpur cocktails all afternoon and evening. Completing the festival-like experience will be Frenchman Jonathan Pajot fronting his ‘Delice Crepes’ pop-up and Anzell Galeria displaying sporty hats and jewelry available for purchase.

International sport, global tastes and world rhythms served up in one of the most beautiful locales on the planet - an afternoon like no other. Mark your calendar and dive into the fun today Sunday 8/13!

● “India Cafe”: there’s a reason spice trading in India dates back over 5,000 years; Indian spices are the express train to broke-da-mouth WOW eats. And India Cafe has you covered this Sunday with Curry Puff Samosa, Spicy Eggplant Sambal, Hot Roti Paratha Bread, Butter Chicken Tikka Masala, 100% Pure Watermelon Juice and so much more!
● “Delice Crepes”: French food is always best when served by French chefs, and we’re in luck! French national, Jonathan Pajot, will be onsite Sunday delving out the finest crepes on-island - all gluten-free with buckwheat flour. Savory ham & cheese hot off the griddle? Check. Chocolate, banana, strawberry wrapped in crepe love with a dollop of vanilla ice cream? Check. ‘Delice Crepes’ has everything your heart desires (their French!) - full menu: https://app.box.com/s/n9yy74iuevt7ptqfvxxnwtxt9sht3d78

Whether performing for 20,000+ people in Europe or rocking-out in an underground club in Honolulu’s Chinatown, Quadraphonix bring a sound and energy that cannot be denied. What genre you ask? How about a blend of Indian, Malaysian, African and Latin music interlaced with American Jazz, Hip Hop, Funk, Blues and Rock. It’s a sound so unique comparisons to one music legend or another are moot. Just tune-in and enjoy the ride as the Quadraphonix quartet pour their heart and soul into their music and create an irresistible wave of joy.

Willow Chang glided into Bollywood Dance having already earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from the University of Hawaii and top status in a wide range of practices including hula and tango. When her mature talent and wise eye met Bollywood Dance sparks instantly flew and deep connection ensued. For the past 12 years, Chang has continued to nurture and develop her relationship with this art form. For spectators, that translates to performances that go beyond technical merit and into the realm of soul-stirring engagement. We can’t wait for her return to Hawaii Polo Club this Sunday!

Only four weeks left in our 2017 season. Come enjoy while you can!
